Filmmaker's Blog
Currently, I make my living on the platform, Upwork. Here, I have a couple of long term clients who I create content for on a regular basis. Mostly, it's for social media, but I also work for several Youtube channels. Basically, I make LOTS of content a week. SO, I thought I would highlight two projects I did recently. The first is a montage of reviews received by a company called Nano Hearing Aids. Second, I created this thumbnail for a video of Dr. Kyle Chapple

Howdy. I've been super busy with work (yay) and life so, I haven't had much time to post. Now, that I've made that obligatory excuse, here's some of my latest projects. Recently, I was contacted by two very wonderful clients who both happened to be looking to get speaker reels made. I thought I would share these videos since it was such a positive experience on both these projects. Deborah Porter - Speaker ReelLisa Abramson - Speaker Reel
June was busy and exciting month for working! Over June, outside of my continuous reoccurring motion graphic and video editing for I got my first professional (paid!) directing credit as a 2nd 2nd Assistant Director for a film called "For Prophet." (You can read more about it here). I originally found out about this film from the Career Development team at Full Sail. The Production Manager, Tim, was a Full Sail Alumni as well as was Key Make Up on the film, Kate. Here's some nifty gifty photos from set. Recently, I was given the opportunity to color grade some landscape footage of Chicago, taken from Shoreline Sightseeing boat tour on the Chicago River. I was given free range to color grade it however I pleased. To me, Chicago will always be Gotham. I decided I would try to recreate the look in the new Joker trailer. A sort of green, yellow, purple color, much like the joker. Below is a screenshot of the image that inspired me. BeforeAfterBeforeAfterYou can check out the whole video, shot by Jonathan Mullen on a DJI Osmo Pocket, here: This is an oldie but a goodie :D My final project for the History of Motion Pictures at Full Sail). For this assignment I gave the history of the action film throughout the decades. For this class I received a Course Director's Award. As well, this video was used as an example for future classes. I recently got to do some location lighting for a product video. Because it was a video showing off a product, we decided to go with flat lighting. We filmed in Logan Square, a neighborhood of Chicago, at an Air B&B. The location was very interesting because two of the walls were exposed brick and the ceiling was aluminum. While the exposed brick didn't offer a lot of bounce back, the aluminum ceiling was actually amazing as I used it as a giant reflector. It acted as both a hair light and a fill light.
A screenshot of the final product as well as my lighting layout can be seen at the bottom of this post. My favorite movies of 2018 in no particular order :) But, if I did have to put them in order...
